Plank Runner

Unhinged Yachting Adventures and Travel Blog

Blog 1a: Intro to plank runner

Ahoy friends! If it isn’t obvious yet, I have once again decided to make a blog. I attempted to start a different blog around this time last year while still working abroad and failed miserably💁🏼‍♀️. Creating a website was A LOT harder than I thought. Let alone, still having a full time job that constantly went in and out of wifi making it basically impossible. BUT, we are back and hopefully better <insert stress emoji>😅.

Could I have just written in a journal? Sh*t, I should have thought of that earlier. But hey, why take the easy road when you could your weekends learning how to code? God, what did I get myself into? Anyways, I hope you’ve realized by now that I am going to take over your mind not gonna sweet talk bullshit ya. I will share my cool spots, experiences and knowledge but the minute I start traveling just for instagram pics please dear lord shut it down. Also, I’ll be sharing updates of Kyle and I’s journey for those of you that want to follow along there. I’ve recently posted update 1.

If you’re still here, I’m about to talk more about myself so if you’re not interested, all good player✌🏻. Traveling has always enchanted me. Growing up, I was very fortunate to experiencing roadtrips, cruises, family vacation and lots of traveling for sports tournaments. I found my other passion for the marine industry from spending summers on my uncle’s fishing boat. I have never had a bad time on the water, so naturally I wanted to focus my career in a similar direction. Since my professional soccer career didn’t work out, thanks COVID, my intention was to use my Mechanical Engineering degree from Colorado State University to become a manufacture of boats and marine equipment.

After 5 years of engineering and 1 awful internship I was not excited about my plan after graduation. Through more research and talking to a lot of people I found crewing. I gave it a shot with the idea of saving up money and going to cool places. Now here I am, going on year 2.

Whether you’ve joined to begin your own yachting journey or have just stopped by for some travel tips, I hope Plank Runner can help scratch all the travel bugs you got.
