Stew Summer Cocktail Menu

Ahoy lushes. As I told you in the latest Kyle & Halley Update, I recently got a job as a seasonal deck/stew. So far, it’s going really well! We’ve still got a long season ahead though, so fingers crossed we keep it up.

Anyways, one aspect of this particular job I’m really excited for is bartending! I hope my boss is reading this one ;).  On my other boats it was a considered a crazy night if we got to bust out a couple margaritas. I know just like below deck right?

However, this summer sounds like it’s going to be a thirsty one. Whether you’re in the industry or just a libations enthusiast here are some drinks to make your summer a little more enjoyable.

Twisted Lemonade

You’ll need:

In your shaker place…

2-4 basil leaves, 1 squeezed lemon, 3-4 fresh fruit, 1 oz simple syrup. Muddle. Fill with ice. Pour 2 oz vodka, 1.5 oz fruit juice, 1.5 oz lemonade. Shake. Pour over ice. Garnish with basil, lemon, fruit, enjoy!

Blackberry Mojito

Watermelon Martini

You’ll need:

I got this recipe from Lemon Blossoms, and think it’s delicious. Combine 2 oz vodka, 1 oz simple syrup & lime juice, 1/2 oz orange liqueur, 2 oz watermelon juice in shaker with ice. Shake, strain, garnish, enjoy!

Spicy Margarita

You’ll need:

  • Limes
  • Lime juice
  • Agave
  • Triple sec/Cointreau
  • Salt or sugar
  • Tequila
  • Jalapeños

Wet rim of glass & dip half of rim in sugar/salt. Muddle 3-4 jalapeño coins & 1 squeezed lime slice. Add ice, 2 oz tequila, 1 oz triple sec/cointreau, 1/2 oz agave, 1 oz lime juice. Shake. Strain over ice, garnish, enjoy!

Aperol Spritz

You’ll need:

  • Aperol
  • Orange Slice
  • Prosecco
  • Club Soda

In your glass

Add ice, 3 oz aperol, 3 oz Prosecco, 1 oz club soda and an orange slice. Stir and enjoy!

Okay now all you extra credit, party planners and super-stews, here are some ways to go above and beyond.

  • Have a printed drink menu with stand
  • Get fancy ice cube molds
  • Dry Fruits as garnish
  • Get drink identifiers
  • Drink prep, so you can enjoy more

I hope all of you have enjoyed reading this article as much as I enjoyed writing it. Drunk comment if you’ve given one of these drinks a try or have more to add to the summer cocktail list!
